LDI sold

Postby MacDeffe » 21 Oct 2011, 20:08

Just read this on Cowdery's blog :

LDI, the mysterious former Seagram’s distillery that makes Redemption Rye, Templeton Rye, Bulleit Rye, and several other popular whiskeys, has finally been sold. When the deal closes, its new owner will be MGP Ingredients, Inc

LDI rye is also an important ingredient in the High West "Blends", to the extent the 12yo is 100% LDI

The distillery is acquired by MGP Ingredients, which among other things manufactures GNS (Grain Neutral Spirit)

The former owner was/is Angostura

Maybe they will sell Charles Medley as well, a chance for it to be reopened

It would be good to see more as long as they have an eye on the quality.
