Inaugural Release 3yo 46% - Kilchoman

Nose – Huge hit of peat smoke followed by fishiness and a vanilla sweetness. A hint of smoked bacon and coal dust.
Palate - barley sugar sweetness and more coal dust
Finish - Long, hot and smokey
Comments - This is an excellent three year old whisky. But it is a three year old whisky. I can detect no sherry in this at all. It seems 100% bourbon to me. It's great fun and as enjoyable as the young Ardies were. If the whisky continues to mature like this and if we haven't just been given the best dozen or so casks in the warehouse then Kilchoman will be a regular drinker for me when it grows up a little more (assuming my liver lasts that long).

It is better to have drunk it all than never to have drunk at all.
