Ardbeg Celebration Event - London

Been to a tasting or event? Or simply trying some out at home?

I don't mind spending money, but accommodation and travel costs ( the Mrs needs the car ) hurt my head - especially when it means losing a couple days work. Later today is my last days work for a while - bummer.
I've spent a lot of money on whisky and women, the rest i squandered

That is a bummer, and I hope things will be looking up for you soon. That points up the fact that we all need to prioritize. If you're out of work, attending whisky events is pretty far down the list, or should be. We all have things we want to do, but feel we can't, for one reason or another...again, I will say that if you want it bad enough, you will make it happen. If other things are more important, well, that's simply a matter of being a responsible adult. And there's no real harm in complaining, is there? We all do. Fire away. I'm starting to wonder if I have a point....

I'm wondering also...

Of course being out of work is crap, but if the Ardbeg Event was next week maybe....no i wouldn't have gone, last minute train fares are outrageous, and accommodation in the big smoke is a joke, besides i just invested in a load of bottles with more to come.

I actually drank more Ardbeg in London that in the rest of my 49 years put together. So, I'm happy to pin on a "Southern Hoarder" badge for now. But - much to my surprise, I did enjoy all of the drams on Wednesday, so I might become a disciple in time. Uigee seemed to be everyone's favourite. Mine too.

I got the scale-model of the Beastie Mobile by 'fluttering my eyelids' at the barman. It never fails lol.
