Having already sampled a few drams in 2010 I am sure I already have two candidates to be considered for my best whisky tasted in 2010 and it's a close call between Banff 34y and the Inchgower 34y.

Yes it is, but they are certainly good enough to be considered when the time comes.
These would be in the category of ones I tried in 2010, but not released in 2010 as they are both from 2009.
A shame I didn't have them 2-3 weeks ago.

I've been having a good session reading your notes Keith.
I still think they are great. Don't always agree 100% but even when I don't they are entertaining, usually detailed and are an excellent resource.
Thank you ;)

Glad you liked the Inchgower Keith. If anyone is interested, the Chester Whisky Shop has 2 bottles of it left.

My sample dramming continues and I have just realised that my current reviews number somewhere around 450-60, with another 24 on my desk and a few more in the post this will put me rather close to 500 whisky reviews, mostly from the last year and a half.

Over the next days I will check the exact number as I would like No. 500 to be something special, or at least different, although I plan to give others the choice of exactly what it will be.

Keep looking in but I expect to run a poll soon as to what #500 should be.

It's really getting close now with 490 reviews online (excluding whisky & chocolate and whisky & food) and 7 more still to review on my desk. I also still have the 4 cheapos to review, but these can wait a little longer.

Just reviving this old thread rather than posting on one of the "what are you drinking" ones as it's just over a year since I was on 490 tasting notes with enough on my desk to make the big 500.

Well, things have moved on a little as today I have just put my 750th tasting note online.
A very worthy one it was too; Master of Malt Dailuaine 27y with an excellent 89 points from me;
http://www.whisky-emporium.com/UK/ActualTastingNotes/Dailuaine.htm#MoM27y

Over the next month I will enjoy a few drams but don't forsee any great movement in tasting notes as I take a breather before things get really mad in the lead-up to Christmas.

Slàinte Mhath,
