Cadenheads 19yo 58.1% sherry cask - Littlemill

Nose: Wow, what a sensational nose. A fruit salad explosion with plums, quince and mangoes all aligned with clear malt and a biff of vanilla. Just wonderful.
Palate: And it carries on into the palate with the fruit sprinkled with crunchy sugar, before a few hot spikes appear. Water causes it to erupt into spiritiness and shortens the finish.
Finish: Now it begins to break down a bit. The heat asserts itself (classic Littlemill) and burns holes through the fruit before leaving a curious smouldering ash.
Comment: There are some genius aspects to this dram, especially on the nose, but in true Littlemill style it doesn't hang together until the end. Its such a pity. Still there's enough there to get me thinking about a purchase. I probably won't but I'm definitely thinking about it.
