Longrow 8yo 58.5%, 10.01-20.05.10, Shiraz Hogshead, 414 bottles, Springbank open day 2010 bottling
Nose: Wow, this is amazingly complex. There’s fresh tobacco, green tea, seashells on the beach. Underneath that there’s mangoes, pineapple chunks and barley sugar. Wonderful.
Palate: Strong tea, strong mints, chewing tobacco and salt.
Finish: Tobacco and coal smoke. Long, lingering and ashy
Comment: Fantastic whisky. Incredibly evocative, almost like I was standing beside the cask with a valinch.
