Macallan 12yo Apr 91 - Jul 03, SMWS 24.72 56.5%

So a single cask, cask strength. First time for me with Mac

n: Hmmm, much better than the ob's. Treacle pudding with custard. Walnuts.

t: Caramelised oranges. Treacle again. Much more complex.

f: quite long and warming

Water makes a difference

n: sorry ladies. This smells of sperm  Like Knockando.

t: Oranges again, probably slightly seared under the grill. Tate & Lyle syrup drizzled on porridge

f: quite long and rather complex with flavours I can't quite identify at the moment.

Comments: Not what I expect from Macallan. I may get some more SMWS bottlings

8-7-08

Nose: Lots of oranges and spice on the nose
Palate: Full of toffee, oranges and spice.
Finish: It leaves a really long finish of dark orange chocolate (if there is such a thing, I may have made that up).

Thanks to C57 (aka Nick) for this sample!!! :D

Tonight the finish has quite some sulphur :yuk:
Why should that have developed in a year?

It's little enough to still be very good though :)

Nose: Orange, christmas pudding, hint of spice
Palate:Strong toffee, spiced orange
Finish: Long and orangy and as C57 says a hint of sulphur.

Many thanks to Nick for the sample. Great to try a SMWS Macallan that wasn't heavily sulphered. Cheers
