Old Pulteney, 21y, 46%

Nose:
A Scottish golf course overlooking the Atlantic coast.

Palate: Smooth and creamy, peaches and ice cream.

With water:
Nose: Same as before.

Palate: The water has brought out a little more saltiness, making this a wonderful maritime dram now. More like the expectations from the nose.

Overall Impression: An excellent dram which I thoroughly enjoyed.

New bottling subsequent to JM's best whisky rating

Nose : Tinned pears and peaches in syrup. liquorice and malt concentrate.
Taste : One of those whiskies move across your palate like a blast wave. Hugely exciting and great fun.
Finish : Lovely sugary salty interplay. Lots of life.
Comment : This is a great fun dram. Probably good on a jaded palate.
