RIP

Anything and everything that is not whisky.

Alas, my ol' Granddad passed away this morning. My whisky drinking pardner. The sort that never stopped being active and you'd want beside you in the trenches. A stereotypical Irishman if ever there was one.

Last night when i visited him i knew he wouldn't last another day, i told him i'd drink a big whisky for him, it was the only thing that was said that stirred him. A whisky drinker to the end.
I've spent a lot of money on whisky and women, the rest i squandered

Ugh...a very effective method, I suppose, since even if you instinctively pop your head above the liquid, you'll drown quite quickly in carbon dioxide. Pretty awful. I wonder if they'll decommission that washback.

Was in two minds about posting this but it sort of reminded me about the dark side of the film Train Spotting, really sad story about the death of a toddler in Scotland.

Indeed, a very sad account.

Since what I do for a living is traumatic brain injury research this sad event and untimely death reinforces to me the importance and value of this area of research.
