Wouter Weylandt rider with Leopard Trek cycle racing team died after a crash yesterday on Stage 3 the Giro d’Italia. Chastening, brings you up short.
When you go out on your bike you expect to come back.
A sad day. Respect due

Absolutely right. It's always sad when a professional sportsman dies during a competion, certainly when it's a fellow countryman. My condolences to his family and (pregnant) girlfriend.

Ishbel MacAskill, 31st March, only just caught up with this reading back copies of Stornoway Gazette. She had the most haunting voice singing in Gaelic,a very sad loss indeed.

RIP Mrs. Evans.

My (German) next door neighbour who was once married to an Englishman, hence her name.
Died sometime since yesterday evening as this morning the street was filled with Police and Ambulances.

A lifelong smoker whose lungs finally gave up

It seems Mrs. Malty was the last to see her alive when she took her some shopping yesterday evening.

She was also the owner of the local shop selling marvellous loose tea and my personal supplier of the most marvellous Earl Grey.
