Suppose you'd have preferred a bottle of whisky though

Vicoria eh? First-name terms... you're not a bloody prince or owt are you

Anyway, was the bottle signed? Might be worth a few shillings if it was; where's a For Sale board when you need one...

Hey Keith steady on old chap. I think you are a tad older than me. C57 is the same age as me. There is a clue there.

I was just born circa '57.
I leave you to guess the century...

People, upload your old avatars!!!

I find it much easier to search for people's posts by their ID images.

Hi everybody!

I hear this is the place to be! Nice to see so many familiar "faces"... You know what I mean. Great job, Mark and NIck. Congrats.

Can we get more smilies?? I think the IWBRNT at a minimum... Then again, I've promised myself to cut back... :)

This morning I spent quite some time trying to upload an avatar, without success.
I can get to well within 100x100, but I couldn't get anywhere near 6kb.

In the end I reduced the picture to almost invisible on my screen and it was still 39kb.

Any advice is welcome.

Try www.shrinkpictures.com and go for the "good" (i.e. worst) quality option. That should work for you, but you can only do it with jpegs. If you have a bmp, you'll have to convert it to jpeg first.

Congratulations with a great new forum! Judging from the posters so far I'd say one cannot wish for a better company! I'm more than a little concerned about the lack of a "For Sale" forum though....... :D
