Ellenstown 16yo Speyside 52.5%. Reputed to be Glen Moray

Colour: Light Amber
Nose: Oloroso, oranges, milk chocolate, green tomatoes and a little bit of the barber shop. A little water unleashes the malt but more than that kills the whole dram.
Palate: Malt and marmalade. Yum. Exceptionally juicy with some water, but the flavour is deadened.
Finish: Juicy malt and loads of spice. Maybe a little too much heat at full strength, but wonderful really. With water the heat is tamed but still it has that white peppery note on the finish that I always assiciate with Glen Moray.

I wish this had been released in the UK. In terms of value I think it is excellent. And in terms of sheer enjoyment it is great. So nice to get sherried whisky that is clean and more or less sulphur free.
