I may have to get one, but I'll more likely get it at TWE than Robbies :o

I was really looking forward to this, but was slightly disappointed in it:

Nose: Slight egginess; floral, perfumed, cream sherry; cookie dough, shredded marmalade. Nice and rich, but sulphur remains in the background. Varnish and oak come to dominate.

Palate: Real varnish / shoe-polish character. Hints of soap, wet cardboard, spices, hairspray. Water emphasises the varnish notes.

The Laga 12 and Caol Ila unpeated are the gems of this year's releases if you don't want to spend £100+ per bottle.

This is the one I had picked out as interesting and affordable (just!) to me but I have also heard elsewhere that it suffers from the old struck-match/sulphur syndrome, which I detest, so I will avoid.

I would have picked up the unpeated/highland style 8yo Coal Ila as last year's was great but they have put it up by a tenner and can keep it for that money.

I'll stick to buying from Diageo's DE range which are now cropping up all over the place, right down to small corner shops who source from 'cash and carry's.

Looks like I may not be getting this one after all.
Still, I have a White Horse in reserve, together with the standard 12. The White Horse version is lovely...

Well, just the Lag 12 for me then. Or I might take a peek at the CI.

The Laga 12 is a belter this year, Mark - for me, it's the best one for a while. Loved it.
