Guillon Single Malt 42%

Guillon Single Malt 42%

N: cereal, barley

T: sweet barley, spirity, feinty, young, damson

F: sweet, sticky, vague and unspecific fruits

This is a young whisky that needs time in a good cask to mature. It'll never be complex, being totally barley driven, but could one day have a certain rustic charm. Not a million miles away in style from Armorik Breton whisky.

Guillon Single Malt 42%, sauterne and burgundy casks

Tasted: 12/03/2009
Nose: Cardboard, fruitwood?
Palate: Apple, pineapple, malty, ashy, oily and juicy
Finish: Spicy and a little hot
Comment: Pretty decent stuff. the single malt drinker has to get past the nose that seems like that of a poor malt, but really it is very nice if you give it time and lose your preconceptions of what it should be like.

It is better to have drunk it all than never to have drunk at all.
