Translation of the tube/bottle label description:

This pure malt whisky was obtained by the distillation of malted barley; fermented under the action of yeast and aged for 8 years in wood casks of 500 litres.

Colour: Gold

Nose: Sweet, bordering on sugary. Lightly honeyed. Quite spicy and woody. Ground white pepper. Vanilla and a little chocolate. Hints at being spirity. Smoke? Watery citrus fruit and weak pear. Becomes sweeter over time.

Palate: Light and relatively honeyed initially, quickly becoming quite bitter. Something slightly briny/fishy, turning into notes of paint/plastic? Certainly something chemical. Some woodiness again.

Finish: Sweet and mentholated. Something perfumed and winy (sherry?) appears briefly before prolonged, slightly drying citrus notes take over at the end. Leaves a fairly dry, bitter aftertaste.


A pleasant nose - albeit lacking oomph - but the palate and finish are both pretty poor. Rather uninspiring overall.
