Bain's Cape Mountain Whisky 43% (South Africa)

South African single grain whisky, from the James Sedgwick distillery in Wellington

Nose: Toasted popcorn and vanilla, pears, marshmallows and acetone
Palate: Huge vanilla sweetness. Butter tablet.
Finish: Burnt sugar. Long and slightly drying.
Comment: Wonderfully drinkable grain whisky

I've heard that this is quite well thought of. Might have to look it out.
