Photos From March 2011

The start of a days walking. It was very hazy ( toward the sun ) and cold.

Image

Breakfast stop. Blue skies but blowing a freezing cold gale, that never let up all day. Edale is off picture to the left and the hill on the right is part of the Kinder 'Massif'.

The haze was annoying at time but the Mrs' compact coped quite well. This is further up, almost at the top of the ridge on the Grinsbrook Horseshoe.

I'll post a few more later.

How long a walk was that, Pete? I'm keen to get back to that area.

About 7hrs with a breakfast and lunch stop. It was strong cold wind so there were a couple of hot flask stops aswell. I'd say less than 6hrs walking, if i was on my own 5hrs at a steady pace ( 4hrs if on a fast march with no stops ). All the accent was in the first hour.

Oh, no more than 10 miles, but that route could be trimmed down a bit.

Mrs. Malty was feeling good today so we finally had a chance to get out for a couple of hours, but sadly the promised blue skies and sunshine never quite materialised.

That is because I got all that sunshine during my walk.

Hey Z.

Been to the coast for a week. Lots of sky... hazy sky ( this image looks odd but the exposure and colour is spot on ) ...

Image

...blue sky...

...and red sky...
