I think that looks quite pricey for three standard malts and a blend.

Aye, bit pricey for an introduction to whisky tasting session/meal.

Before I jump in and comment about the price, or even to try and understand what you're doing, I'd be interested to get some more information here, for example:

Is the food included?
What is the menu being offered?

Are you attempting to pair whisky and food?
In which case have you consulted anyone whose specialist area this is, as it is a rather difficult one, but rewarding when you get it right?

Is this an informal gathering where people will just be given whisky and food, or do you have 'an expert' who knows his whisky to run the evening for you?

Edit: Who exactly are your target audience for this event. I ask as these are indeed quite basic whiskies and probably wouldn't be too attractive to afficionados and experts, more a (very) beginner's tasting.

Regards,
Malty

Yes, but what is the menu and is this a whisky & food event, or is the food just secondary.
If food is served first them people still need to know what it is so they will know what to expect of their palates before the whisky ... etc ...

What I'm saying is that other than a price and a list of four whiskies, there'S not much information.

Boy, what a tough audience. At least this guy's not spamming the whole website, like that Glencairn glass guy did.

Good luck with your event, sir.

Agreed to both points.

Tough crowd but they all tasted those whiskies but it is clear that they might be interested in the "2 course meal" part if it is also something special.

I guess they cleaned up the forum from that Glencairn glass guy last night...including the post where I called him a DB.

Yes. What a tough audience.

This is the first event we have held and wanted to let you all know about it as hopefully we will move things up a notch once we have established ourselves.

The ticket includes your two course meal, and the menu will be confirmed as our chef is meeting with our expert today. The whisky will be served after the meal and described by an expert.

It is going to be an informal gathering and from your comments obviously it will only be beginners that are interested, however everyone is welcome.

As we are clearly novices at this, your feedback and comments have been helpful and anymore to follow would be appreciated, as we would like to contuniue to do events of this nature and would love people of your expertise to come along and enjoy.

At first i was quite interested (because it was in Glasgow) but to see what you have on offer, ill pass.
Nice try though

The main(basic) reason in whisky tasting is to experience whisky that you haven't had a chance to taste.
