Re: How many open bottles do you have?

For a long time I had lost count, but tonight as I sat here dramming I tried to think about how many open bottles I had. During this contemplation I finished a bottle and opened two more. By the time I came to write this post I had realised what a futile exercise it really is.

Actually what happened is that I got 'tired' and couldn't keep track.

Did a wee morning inventory while I was sound of mind. It seems to be 38 open after finishing 4 over the last few days. I'll be trying to reduce it further over the next few weeks.

I'm not going to try to count the samples. Its hundreds.

60!

Managed to make a good impact on the stashed samples, so expect the number do come down further soon.

That is unless I start opening new bottles ;)

I have about 10 open at the moment, all single malts but none are less than 1/2 full and many are 3/4's. I'm really partial to Islay single malts though some of the other bottles represent other areas.

I stopped caring about how many bottles I have open. I currently have 40 open and 33 unopened bottles. I'll crack a few more open this week. I have a cask strength 18yr Aberfeldy that I am itching to taste.

It had been really tough and I couldn't seem to reduce my open bottles. I think for most of 2010 and all of 2011 I had in excess of 100 bottles at one stage over 120  which is just ludicrous. This despite desperately trying to reduce all during that time. This thread reminded me to see how I was getting on and I was delighted to find I am down to just over 80. What was the secret a 2yo and a 2 month old

A two-year-old and a two-month-old helped you empty bottles? That's just wrong, no matter which way you interpret it.

With 120 open bottles, getting the number down would seem to be almost a Sisyphean task. I have the opposite problem--ten open bottles, and only two or three that I really want to drink from, which makes the good bottles drain much too quickly. I need to open more.
