In decreasing level of confidence:
Aberlour 10
Cardhu
Glen Garioch 12
Auchentoshan 12
Oban
Arran Robbie burns
Aberlour 12
Glendronach 12
Jura (superstition?)

(what is behind the Springbank 10 - bowmore?)

Let's try again. Remove the Glendronach 12, replace with Ardmore traditional cask. (the logic being that as a peat man, the ardmore does not hold a candle to your stash of Ardbeg, Laphoraig, and others. the dronach may be the best sherried example on the list)
Do I get the house back?

Nope. The Glendronach is the worst tasting whisky I have ever had the misfortune of buying. I absolutely hate it. It would be the first to go. I really actually like the Ardmore as it has a different peat to it than the Islays and it is very well priced here in Canada. I'll give you a hint your logic for choosing the Ardmore was sound you just picked the wrong one....... Soooooo, one to go, one to stay, and one that I'd buy in a heartbeat. Any more guesses????

I'll let someone else try. :iwbrnt:

I like the Glendronach 15yo and since it is not available at the LCBO I was thinking of picking up the 12 sometime. I'll skip it for now.
As for the Ardmore, I think it's pretty good - and a great price relative to everything else on Ontario.

I scored the Glendronach 15 blind 88pts, and at 99$ CDN it was a steal at the LCBO! I wish I'd bought a bottle, a wonderful sherried malt.

Had a few last night, my friend stopped over for the weekend. Got Another Corry from Calgary. Started off with the An Turas Mor worked into the Talisker DE and up to the Ardbeg Corry. Finished the night with Laphroaig 18. Man that Laph. is fantastic stuff. Holds its own with the very best Ardbegs. For anyone thats interested the second bottle I would buy in a heartbeat is the GM Caol Ila..... magnificent bottling. I prefer it to the OB.

I'm having some Penderyn 41 Welsh malt. Interesting stuff. Very light-bodied, fruity and herbal. Tasted blind I doubt I would mistake it for Scotch. Maybe Irish.

It's very clever of him, actually, to have accumulated all those empties. Now getting rid of them is a concession to her. Think of it: he gets brownie points for throwing away empty bottles. Well done, lad!

I would never keep that many bottles around in the first place....for fear the wife would say, "you mean to tell me you drank all those bottles...you need to cut back."

They all read the same manual. It's easy for them, the manual for men is three pages long, whereas the manual for understanding women....

Strathisla 12
N: honey, lavender ... but in a pleasant way (usually hate my drinks/food smelling flowery), vanilla
P: caramel custard .. sort of! There is a creamy sweetness that I like. This reminds me of Glenlivet Nadurra - but a lighter version
F: Short but the burn lingers on for a while (neat)
Looks like its coming back and $3 cheaper. Will pick up another bottle to replace the one I opened tonight!

Last night my glass held Auchentoshan 12, then Strathisla 12, while playing cards. To my experience, the Strathisla is one that has improved noticeably as the bottle has sat open (a total of seven months), especially in the last two months or so. It is just over half empty.
The wishlist is always growing...

Had a few different drams the other night. Started off with the William Larue Weller (had a renewed interest in this after all of the recent postings on bourbon). This really is a magnificent whisky, extremely powerful, has to be taken in very small sips if tasted full strength. Moved afterward to Bowmore Darkest. I like to do this occasionally to see how a lesser whisky holds up after drinking a top shelfer. I find the Bowmore to be a very dissapointing whisky, dulled flavours, little to no finish, no balance between the peat and sherry, really just a train wreck for me. The real surpise of the night was the Laphroaig Quarter Cask. This one in my opinion is the absolute best value currently available at the LCBO. Not to sound snobbish (I'm sure some will think that anyway) but I have a really good selection of high end whisky's and have been blessed in my ability to obtain many of these through friends at reasonable prices. I am very impressed at how the QC stacks up against my current high end bottles. A great whisky at a reasonable price. Currently one of the only bottles I would consider buying right now under $100 and it's always available. That being said though it does fit my favourite type of flavour profile.

I so agree with you. I always come back to Laphroaig QC. I remember how extreme it tasted to me when I first had it. It is shocking how we change our taste with time.

Laphroaig QC I haven't had in about 2 years. My tastes have switched away from strong peat, but this was my favourite Islay malt at one time. I might come back to it next year when the open scotches in my collection start to disappear.

Was at my local library couple of days back and as I walked in they had "The Endurance - Shackleton's legendary antarctic expedition" on the featured display. I had to pick it up of course. Almost through the book but no mention of any scotch they took on this trip. This was the 1912-1916 expedition. Mackinlay’s whiskey that was found was from his first unsuccessful expidition ~1902.

So since I didn't have any Mackinlay’s, decided I'd start with Ardbeg Corry, this was followed by Laphroaig QC and then to round up last night I ended with Glenfarclas 15. Was an really relaxed and enjoyable evening.
