Distilled 20.03.1986, hogshead #18989

I dont have much single grain experience, but here goes.

N: Toffee. Perspex ( as in sanding it down at school ), a hint of sharp citrus. White pepper? a good sniff makes the eyes water slightly. Dried fruits, mainly apricot.
T: This is ok. Toffee and perspex. Light muscavado sugar. Sherbet at the back somewhere, lemon perhaps. A little water smoothes it out slightly, but it doesn't need it.
F: Medium length plus a bit. With the toffee perspex right to the end.

I'm surprised, this is quite good, although i cant compare my notes with other single grains.
I've spent a lot of money on whisky and women, the rest i squandered

Nose: Lightly spirity, lemon, fresh and clean, but maybe just a hint of bung cloth.
Taste: Creamy vanilla fudge, toffees, lemon and a little white pepper.
Finish: More peppery and spicy here. It fairly zings on the tongue.
Comments: The nose is a bit non-descript, but as soon as it hits the palate this whisky comes to life. It's a beautiful balance between sweetness and spice.
