Rick No. R-10, Barrel No. 4-0330, Date 29-04

Colour: Beautiful golden amber hue with a faint vermilion cast.

Nose: Moderately alcoholic, with notions of maple butter and flower petals as well as a dash of sootiness.

Palate: Maple bonfires, banana custard, crisp oak with a hint of the spice cupboard and subtle nuances of mint and liquorice root. The heat outlasts the flavour by a horse's length as the taste tails off at the finish.

Comment: A tad more subtle and spirited than, yet not quite as chewy as, a previous incarnation tasted 6 years ago. Still far from the most complex American liquor around, but honest and tasty. Notable for its clean palate presentation and refreshing, invigorating nature. Very good Tennessee sipping whiskey.
