Last night I had Midnight Sun (I think that's what it was called). A porter from some Scottish crowd. Anyway, it was super duper.

I've had that before. A great stout/porter! It's in Tesco I think.

I found the bottle and it say it's from Williams Bros, although maybe they make it for Tesco? I bought it from an off licence.

Williams is a Scottish brewery. I usually have some botlles of Williams Red in the stash but they do lots of others.
My Tesco doesn't sell it but I don't doubt a Scottish Tesco would.
Not brewed for Tesco I imagine.

Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon 3. edition

Image

Very confused... Not sure if I like it or not, but sure gets better when warmed up.

Nose picks following notes: Liquorice, mild hops, fresh baked bread, brown sugar, yeast, salty liquorice, gentle alcohol spike, coffee...

Taste wise it was coca-cola (yeah...), fresh bread, liquorice, coffee, brown sugar (intense), salty, hint of smoke, intense yeast (like tasting warm mash), very tiny hint of iodine like taste (not like laphroaig tho)

Mouth feel was like thick and spicy gravy of some sort

Definetly worth of a try, but I think this is bit too complex beer to my taste. Kinda want beer to be some what simple, not too simple but something you can easily enjoy.

Got a couple of bargains today in Sainsburys; 4 cans of Caffreys for £2.18! And 4 cans of Abbot Ale for £4. For good measure I picked up a bottle each of Brewdog Hardcore IPA and 5am Saint, also a bottle of Brooklyn Lager.
