Tasted at the Glengyle Open day - 21/05/09 - with Frank McHardy. One of 6 Kilkerran casks tasted. Third from left in the photo below:
Nose: Raisins, toffee, cloves underneath the sweetness. Cinammon, ash below that.
Mouth: Sugars, fruit juices, some saltiness and barley. Lovely and juicy feel.
Finish: Sweetness and smoke. Fruity oils and fruit syrup. Long and delicious.
Water again brings out vegetal notes and cloves. More pepper and smoke on the throat.
Comments: I'm definitely enjoying these more and we go through them from lightest to darkest. This should be a great dram in a few years. One to keep an eye on.
