And some of those venerable Canadian whiskies can be rather delicious!
I've tasted some Crown Royal bottlings from the 1950s and 1960s, and they have impressed, especially in comparison to contemporary releases - richer, more mature and smoother overall, and more in line with the Limited Edition and Reserve editions of Crown Royal from the present era.
Another excellent Canadian I've enjoyed thoroughly is a Schenley 15 Year Old Order of Merit distilled in 1952 and bottled in 1967.
So, once again, I'd say open that bottle and take pleasure in what's inside.
