I've seen several references to the tiny inked print on whisky bottles, but can't seem to locate them with the search. Ones I recall related to "L7" versus "L10" bottlings of Ardbeg Uigeadail.
Anyway, I picked up, according to the USA importer, "the last case ever" of Bruichladdich Links "The Old Course, St. Andrews - 17th Hole" in 1-liter bottles. This was, according to online sources, a limited run of 12,000 bottles in 2003. Three of the bottles in the case don't have the "fine print" indicating a bottling date. The other three have these markings:
07/0207 09:56 20 SEP 07
07/0207 09:57 20 SEP 07
07/0207 09:58 20 SEP 07
Here are my questions?
Was there a second run of "The Old Course, St. Andrews - 17th Hole" in 2007?
When did bottlers start using the "fine print" to identify bottling dates?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
Consistency requires you to be as ignorant today as you were a year ago.
