benromach 10: sherry?

does anyone know if there's any ex-sherry casks in the benromach 10 (43%) vatting? i'm drinking some tonight and getting what seem to me to be sherry notes in the finish and also on the nose after some time in the glass. curiously, i've not remarked this before. serge's notes don't say anything about sherry either, so i'm intrigued.

the official site (for there is one) says "Matured in the finest hand picked Sherry & Bourbon casks, Benromach 10 years old is returned to sweet Oloroso sherry casks for a final marrying period."

why the "s" in sherry is capitalized in one instance but not the other is a question i am now throwing open to the audience.

I'd guess it's simply either errant typing or poor proofing of text. It could also be their way of helping to highlight the casks used. Anyway, lowercase s is correct.

(By the way, should Bourbon always be capitalised? I've never been sure of that one.)

Here's what I've got on Benromach 10:

Peated at 12 ppm phenol, 80 percent of this whisky is matured in bourbon barrels, 20 percent in sherry casks, and then it’s finished for a year in Oloroso sherry casks.

Bourbon is a proper noun when its somebody's last name or that Kentucky county, although I'm sure the nice folks in that county and state would disagree.

as per my notes, i last had some of it 8 months ago. maybe i just forgot that it displayed sherry character, but it's also possible that this character has amplified as the bottle has stayed open. the sherry was much more apparent than peat last night, and my recollection of trying it when i first opened the bottle is that the peat made a clear impression.
