Hi there,

it is collectible for sure and also ridiculously priced.

I bought a couple of these. Not because they are collectible, which they may well be. I don't believe the value of this can increase much as it is already (too) expensive. I want to drink mine :-o I will be popping one open in the not too distant future when the moment's right and I'll keep the other for "later". I have the impression that several people on this forum do the same with bottlings they are particularly interested in, wallet depending.

Yes it's definatel;y collectable although I'm undecided about it's investment potential as Springbank 21 should be more plentiful in future years, plus it was expensive to start with.

£179 on TWE.

Is it as good as the previous 21? If not, I'm sure that one could be had for a similar price, and it might, for all I know, be a better whisky.

Other retailers have been selling it for over a week now so I would assume the bottles on SWA are not ones purchased from TWE.

Emphasis on the word 'looks' - its all a bit comparative, although the Longrow was a tad pricey for my liking but the 21 Springbank would have to pull something out the bag to taste better.

isnt the springer 21 being priced on the basis of previous legends that it may struggle to live up to. When springbank started to become available again as a 10 the initial stuff wasnt really up to scratch,I guess that will be about 21 now.Took a couple of years for them to really hit their stride again so I'm happy waiting for that more recent stuff to hit 21 and hopefully being more plentiful they wont be charging such an inflated price.Hard to believe the stuff of legend was £40 a bottle.

I'd rather have three bottles of Rundlets and Kilderkins than one bottle of the new 21yo, and still have some change!!
