Nose: Tinned peaches and cranberry and peach tins and honey. Water releases honey and cereals (as usual). Palate: Jelly babies and wine gums. Rhubarb and sugar. Water crushes it. Finish: Vague sugary spikes but not much else. Nothing with water either. Comment: Ok, but hardly exciting.
It is better to have drunk it all than never to have drunk at all.
I tried the Amarone finish that comes in the round tube, and quite enjoyed it. Pink indeed, almost like Rosé wine. What I like about it is the way the finish doesn't dominate the whisky too much. I sometimes have the feeling (especially with Port finishes) that the whisky is there to support the finish, but I thought this was quite harmonious.
