The Curly Coo Bar

Tales of adventure in search of a dram.

The Curly Coo Bar

Postby Willie JJ » 30 Mar 2011, 15:17

I was up in Crieff last Saturday after a failed attempt to get to Glenturret before closing. As a consolation we went looking for a dram and found the Curly Coo Bar in the High Street. It's not a big place and it's not posh (I prefer it that way myself), but it does have a selection of 100 malt whiskies (and counting) and an extremely enthusiastic malt-fan manager in the person of Mandy. The collection of bottles is excellent with many interesting and some quite unusual drams to try. Time only permitted me 4 due to the online tastings on Saturday, but I had Aberfeldy 21yo, Fettercairn 24yo, Benriach Horizons 12yo and a Glen Scotia OB the details of which I forget. I have to make another (hopefully less abortive) trip up to Glenturret and will definitely pop in again.

Would anyone else consider it a kind of poetic justice if a female member won the prize bottle of Le Chick

Ah yes! Am relieved as this greatly improves of chances of winning. And Willie JJ, your cunning plan of doubling your chances by smuggling in a new member didn't work!

Les, yes let's!

Apparently I was also in the Curly Coo on the Saturday evening whilst in Crieff, or so the Mrs tells me. I think I must have been a wee bit squiffy

Evidently we were in the Curly Coo Bar also on saturday evening. As the football had finished they were showing reruns of Bullseye on the big screen. I also don't remember this but Mrs Les assures me this is true.
