London May 1st anyone?

Postby Malt-Teaser » 20 Apr 2012, 15:02

Not sure about "Whisky Travel" although whisky is the main motive for my wee trip and this seems to be the relevant forum, but is anyone around central London on 1st May and perhaps fancy a lunch and natter?

I have a couple of things to do that day and I was also thinking of looking in on TWE's Vinopolis, maybe, but otherwise I would be pretty free around (a long) lunch-time.

I understand the banana natters are especially tasty in early May.

It looks like nobody in London that day, no problem.

Hi Nick,
basically I'm arriving in the morning and would hope to be in central London by around 11am at the latest, hopefully a little earlier as there are a couple of places I'd quite like to visit.

I would expect to have to head back out of town by around 3pm for an evening appointment. This leaves me looking for lunch probably between 1pm - 3pm if you have the opportunity to join me around this time? If this itinerary suits you please PM me and we can discuss time and place. If it isn't convenient for you, don't worry there'll be another time sometime.
Regards.

Dammit, my late afternoon appointment has just been made an earlier afternoon one.

This means I'll cut out a couple of things I wanted to do but will still have some lunch, somewhere, maybe a little earlier.

I'll check the work diary, but I certainly won't be able to get out for long lunch anyway (they're preetty strict!).
I also need to go to TWE - the landlord of the pub next door, is a 61 yo going out with a 30yo who does sailing as a pastime. She's a stage rigger so does work on tall ship rigging and has been restoring the Cutty Sark at Malden.
Now it's back in Greenwich and he wants to get a bottle of Cutty Sark behind the bar for show and to mark the work she's done.

So I'll take the opportunity to get him one as a token of thanks for his good-neighbourliness.

I don't generally eat out round work but there are lots of places - depends what yu want and how much you want to pay I guess. Let's have a PM discusison about it and I'll ask around for recommendations in the right category.
