Rocky Patel Edge Maduro with the last of the bottle of Whyte & MacKay 13yr. Nice pair and I think this is my favourite RP cigar to date...

Edge is quite popular and rightfully so. The other day I gave mine to one of my friends and he loved it. Last night I had Padron 1964 Anniversary. It is a rather good cigar, but I expected more. Not being fully recovered from a nasty cold perhaps had to do something with that. I will try to revisit that one later this weekend.

A La Flor Dominicana Factory Press II with a Peche Mortel Stout. They went well together.

Also had a Crusado with some Aphrodite Stout. The stout was a bit strong for the stick but both were really nice.

Cohiba Siglo II, (only ever smoke the Is and IIs) probably the last of the year. Too cold, dark and wet out now for an evening puff. :(

Yesterday a Rocky Patel Decade and then a RP Edge Light - both toro size. I listened to the hype about the Decade but the stick just didn't deliver as far as I'm concerned. It's a decent stick, one that I'd be happy to smoke, but not something I'd slobber over or anticipate all day. The ratings from CA on this one have been though the roof - undeservedly so as far as I'm concerned. Solid smoke, but no Opus X.

The Edge on the other hand is my current favourite RP stick. Just something about 'em. Had both the Light and the Maduro with no preferance - apples and oranges. Can be had at decent prices inside the US if you hunt for bargains from places like CI or Famous.

The Edge is awesome, indeed. I think it is about $13.00 per stick here in the local shop. Worth every penny. This week I also had RP Connecticut Churchill. OK cigar, yet something was missing.

Jeez Bud, I think you can get 'em on-line for about 5/per. Try Cigar International or Famous Smoke Shop to start with.

Oh yeah, I know that. The reference was for the local people who would like to try one at the time. Cigar International is where I look for what I need. A buddy of mine usually orders a bunch and I place my order through him. Here at home I go to The Outlaw, which is more than just a shop. It's a home away from home. I often tend to support local businesses even when they are spendy. My recent bunch of RP smokes came directly from Rocky, when he was in town at another shop, but that came as a set and I don't remember the individual prices.

The Don Antonio's are good in their own right buy the way. Excellent value, nice flavour, slow even burn but don't go out at the drop of a hat. Well rolled I'd say.

I had an H. Upmann Coronas Junior yesterday (had to buy another one as I still can't find the last one). Very smooth and lightly woody. Nice.

I also bought a Punch Punch to smoke after the festival!

Had a NUB Conneticut a couple of nights ago. Interesting line as their cigars are 60 RG and about 4 inches. I'm not a fan of this size but I've tried 3 from their range and they do taste good. I think the trick is, they are blended for that size as opposed to being blended for a robusto size and having to fiddle with the blend for a larger RG.

Sounds good. Say, Frodo, where do you smoke nowadays? Being in Canada it must be a tad cold to have one outside? Ever since it got cooler, and most of my guys already being overseas, I have cut down drastically on having a cigar by myself outside.

There was a couple of really good days weather-wise and I took advantage. It was actually around New Year's Day that we got 10C weather - just for a bit.

Exactly right Frodo. I also took advantage of our nice weather and had a Partagas SD4 during the day on New Year's Eve. :yummy:

Well I braved the temp today and had a Gran Habano #5 Corojo with Keith's Red Ale. The Gran Habano line is a house brand from Cigar International that retails for about $3.50. At first I was thinking about burying this one in the humi but the oily wrapper was something I just wanted to try. A suprisingly decent cigar, oily wrapper, oily on the palate. Leathery/nutty profile together with a honking 56 RG and 6 inches makes this one a beefy winter smoke. Glad I got to try one...

I just realized that The Outlaw is a registered Tatuaje dealer - meaning they have most if not all of the Tat. lines. Not only this, I believe they got a store exclusive Tatuaje. Wow!!! And a nice place to go to boot!!!

Having just returned from Cuba i've developed an expensive taste for cohibas, which must end when i run out. I'm keeping a few behind my bar to sell if anyones desperate for a good cigar (the only tobaconist in Inverness has closed down i think)

I'm also on my last pack of cohiba cigarrillos negros... which i was lead to beleive are just ciggies made from the leftovers from making real cigars.

And dare I say that a tanning salon is right next door, while most parking spaces are right in front of The Outlaw's window. I will have to pay them a visit before I take off for overseas again.

Had a Tatuaje Leatherface about a week ago when we had a warm snap. 56RG and almost 6.5 inches is a big-ass cigar. Didn't like the RG but the flavours showed alot of promise - needs some down time.
