I tried to get it at Nick's but they sold out within a couple of hours after someone came in and bought over a dozen bottles of the stuff.

Nickolls & Perks have 6 in stock (at time of posting!) http://www.nickollsandperks.co.uk/detai ... ND&cat=105

The majority of it is in the States, with the remainder scattered around Continental Europe, and Australia.

Not exactly. USA got 12,000 out of 60,000, and it's not distributed to all markets in the states yet.

And if you look at the original press release, http://www.whiskyintelligence.com/2010/ ... isky-news/ , the distribution was wider than you say, including your country.

ps: how are things in Christchurch? Haven't seen an update for several weeks.

You're quite right. To clarify, I should have said "the majority of it (which is available to buy online at present) is in the States"

It has rather dropped down the billing in terms of media headlines, following recent events in Japan and Libya. I don't personally know anyone from ChCh, however I do know that there are many folk going through extremely hard times, 5 weeks after the earthquake.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/ is a good source for updates in the meantime.

Thanks for the link. A shame that our media geeks think we can only pay attention to two major world events at a time and Christchurch has fallen out of their view. I think it's they who can't keep up with more than two topics.

Wyoming recieved its allocation of Snow Phoenix today. I'll have it in two days.

Found some here;

They let you buy single bottles, unlike Waitrose where you have to buy by the dozen!!!

Well, no, they don't. They will happily mix a case of one SP and 11 botttles of wine.
May not suit you anyway, but it gave me an excuse to top up the wine racks!

 ! Jus to let you know, I was on the phone with them yesterday and they were happy to take orders for 6 bottles through phone, however they will not go any lower than that. I see people flogn it on Ebay for £80 + Delivery, so it might be a good investment at £50 a bottle, but I guess I jus don't have the patience to put it on Ebay, in the first place.

If anyone is still looking for one of these I found one yesterday in my local Waitrose store for £50, and very good it is too. I guess it must be the next bottling run coming through as it wasn't there last week.

I checked ebay a few days ago and saw a couple of bottles going for $150. Considering the purchase price (at least in my area) was $90, that's already a pretty decent increase. I got a hold of a few bottles, and intend on tasting the Snow Phoenix this upcoming winter!

Finally saw the GSP at the LCBO this week. Two thoughts:

- Packaging is completely overwrought and largely unnecessary.
- For what is purported to be a limited edition, "only released in 2010", why aren't the bottles numbered in some way?? :?
The wishlist is always growing...

For anyone who is still looking for the Snow Phoenix in the UK, a few shops have it back in stock and are still pricing it as a drink rather than an ornament.

Loch Fyne Whiskies have it at £51.90. Drambusters, Royal Mile Whiskies, and The Whisky Exchange are asking £54.95.

Waitrose appear to have found some cases in a forgotten corner of a warehouse.
Better value than eBay's "collectable glass"...

Maybe, maybe not. £99 a bottle from Waitrose vs. £75-110 from fleabay.

Looks like it's pretty much sold out. There are one or two places left that still have it, including Waitrose.

Waitrose were selling it at £60 a go a little while back. Amazing it's gone up to £99.

I just came on here to post the same thing :P

It's quite recent - I'm fairly sure it was still £59 a couple of weeks back. If Waitrose have finally bumped their price it may mean that it really is running out...

Waitrose had it at £50 for a while before the increase to £60. The rise to £99 would suggest they don't have much left and neither does anyone else.
