Ancestral 14 years old 40% 'in selected sherry casks' xiv at top of label
n big juicy dark fruits slight sour note, vanilla and toast (with butter)
t more juice, lots of it, nuts, (almond, walnut) big sweet dark sherry hit,
f more sherry, warming vanilla slightly drying and sour (in a very pleasant way) return.
I really like this whisky, good straight ahead stuff from the man known as Smiley Pete. It struggles in the complexity department if you would like something more subtle and contemplative. I’ve had some after some Glenfarclas and it did not taste so good so maybe best to keep it simple.
