Bladnoch 11 yo CS from G&M. Jan/Feb 1985 - June 1996. 56.8%.
Nose: Wow this is feisty. An initial hit of concentrated lemon is followed by a more mellow nuttiness and malted milk. Almond oil? Maybe a hint of lavender in there too. The amber colour suggests sherry influence and it does seem to come across in that nutty nose.
Palate: The sensation starts at the tip of the tongue and gently works backwards. Again that extreme concentrated lemon that just becomes more intense as it goes along. Wonderful.
Finish: This is a wild spicy ride, but the spice is fresh. Later there is bitter chocolate and a residual orangey tang.
This is an exciting dram that will wake you up even after a long night's dramming. A bit untamed at times, but definitely worth the ride.
