Indeed. What evidence do you have that it ever existed?

It certainly existed but www.classicexpressions.co.uk seems to have vanished from the DNS too.
Perhaps Ian will tell us what's happened?

Classic Expressions specialized in re-printing long out of date books related to whisky. Ian Buxton was the fellow behind it.

Ah, that Classic Expressions. I've forgotten so many things, I think I have Polynesia. (Did I use that one recently? I can't remember.) A shame, then.

I think Ian is still around so perhaps the market for reprints of whisky books was not as he hoped. That is a pity.

Classic Expressions was also a brief magazine on spirits, Ian Buxton, GW Publishing and Gavin D. Smith were involved. I think the focus was probably to broad for readers more specifically interested in a particular style of drink. Shame there were some good articles.

Hopefully Ian will do some more reprints, I guess the market is there it's a case of the readers discovering the publications exist although being such a niche product with huge production costs relative to the short print runs even finding 100 sales might prove too big a financial challenge. Perhaps he should reprint Jim Murray's Complete/World Guide to Whisky. The publisher has reissued the original 1997 text many times without alteration, I imagine it sells well every time.

I believe Mr Murray is not too happy they keep doing it. Charles Maclean's publisher don't seem too bother with updates for a couple of his re-issues either.

You have to be very vareful when dealing with publishers. My wife's brother had exactly the same problem when dealing with DK.

Classic expression went down a couple of months ago, since the market was too small.
They decided to let it die quietly.
If you want a book from them, you can still contact Ian.
