IB G&M 12yo, 40% - Dallas Dhu

This note is courtesy Tim Hain and I hope he'll forgive me for sharing it.
It struck me as such an evocative note and reflects my experience of the dram I'm drinking right now better than I could ever write it - cheers Tim!

“Dallas Dew” more like! Now this is what a “naked speysider” should be! Sexy, delicate, with classic barley/butterscotch notes on nose and palate that remind me of what the Glenlivet 12, or Glenfiddich 12 SHOULD taste like! Not that they’re bad, but this is just slinkier and more rounded…

Quite gentle, but very satisfying, given that I seem not to drink too many malts at 40% these days…the last I bought was a Solera I believe, or was it the Pulteney? All good…but my palate has acclimatised to higher ABV.

So this definitely fits into the “easy drinking” category for me. But, in that particular class, it HAS class. Outstanding! Probably one I’d avoid buying, because I imagine it’s not cheap…and it wouldn’t last long!

Oh, and just a touch of licorice on the finish as I recall.

Again, this is from memory. I didn’t write anything down as this too was a “bathtime” dram!
