What do we all drink regularly?

Postby Exciseman » 29 Dec 2008, 20:16

Whisky is a gimme. I'm interested in what else you quaff. I'll go first.

Wine (red, white & rose);
Rum (occasionally, usually long with Coke - gasp, shock, horror);
Gin (more expensive ones occasionally, always long with tonic).

Never touch beer, lager, vodka, etc

Beer.

Usually the domestic stuff....Molson Canadian or Coors and on rarer occasions a wheat beer.

Wine - big reds
Wine - Crisp whites
Beer - Guinness on draught, real ale in bottles
Gin - with tonic when I get home from work (used to be regular, now just on a bad day)
Rum - when I'm in the mood. But good rum
Port - when I feel like it (love it!!)

Tend to be a seasonal drinker but bitter all year round.
Summer- wheat beer,bottled lager,dry white wine,usually lighter malts
Winter- darker ales especially Roquefort trappist, red wine, more assertive malts, occasionally port
Transitional stuff inbetween but I dont like rose.

Beer (porter, old ale and stout being preferences, but John Smiths seems to be a staple when out and about)
Lager (occasionally)
Full-bodied red wine (with meals at weekend)
Port (usually only at Christmas, but won't refuse if offered at any other time!)

Owdam Tross? I guess John Smith's as safe as can be found on that windswept hill.I'm a Bolton lad doing missionary work in the south west. Been down Boundary park numerous times and stood on that freezing kop with a walled gutter for a toilet, the bovril always went down well and there was always a lot of trouble after the match.

only beer ;) San Miguel the local beer here, very nice :D I have been drinking a lot of the new beer Premium Malt, talk about a great beer, I love it. but it's had to find, i did find some in a supermarket but there was not many left on the shelf? so I took what was left. and now I can't find another shop that sells it? I did ask one store about it they said since San Miguel has it in a glass bottle they don't want to stock it? they want to stock cans only? gee! don't they know beer tastes better in glass! 8-)

Aye, Owdam. Forgot to mention that Lees' Bitter is also commonplace round here, so if Smiths isn't on pump then that's my next go-to.

Been to Boundary Park numerous times this season, with every game ending in a draw... It was particularly cowd last time I went (last weekend), but the traditional pie 'n' a brew helped keep us warm. Nowt's changed there except for the trouble at the end of the match - that seems to have gone thankfully.

When I was younger I would try pretty much anything with alcohol in it, but these days I really only drink whisky and beer, with an occasional rum or other interesting thing that comes along. There's just too much to explore within the whisky world to venture too far into others.

I generally drink whisky. In summer(when hot-very hot) also beers/lagers and much water!! With official diners one or two wines. Now and then a liquor.

Beer (quite often): Belgium beers, guiness, ales and the occasional Stella when searching for something nasty.
Wine (very rarely ): Sweet sherry and port
Rum (often): like the Appleton rums (12 and 21) Ron Zacapa. Most really, but don't have a style or producer I go for.
Cocktails (usually at parents when my mum twists my arm): Mint Julep (especially made with manuka honey and Van WInkle Rye :yummy:), Margaritas, whisky sours (Wild Turkey 8yo for me in this one).
Others: Sotol (I've had a couple of the Hacienda de Chihuahua sotols and really like them), Tequila, Campari and Soda in the sun.

Without fail beer every Friday night in the local pub Mason Arms (we're trying to persuade them to keep some Glencairns behind the bar) with proper local beer from Hawkshead brewery (http://hawksheadbrewery.co.uk/)

But otherwise G&T's, Rum + Coke, and cocktails of various designs and experiments.

And wine lots of it, Berry Brothers good ordinary claret is good and house white, quality over quantity really.

I'm now on the look out for conferences in the far east. Krug is definitely my favourite shampoo. I hate to fork out the £90 a bottle it costs here though. Fortunately its not something that I drink much of at all.
