Info on: Selected by Berrys' - 21 YO Bladnoch from BBR

Postby AlarmGuy » 31 Mar 2012, 20:36

I've been searching the forum and the vastness of the internet to find some info on this bottle. I picked one up today based on the excellent Bladnoch I had from SMWSA.

This bottle here is from cask 2461, is unchillfiltered and uncoloured, bottled at 46% ABV and has a 21 year old age statement.

Any help? The label is different from all I have found online.

Haven't tried this but have had a number of BBR bottlings over recent years and they've all been excellent with exception of one Ben Nevis bottling.
Sitting drinking a SMWS Bladnoch as I type and never had a Bladnoch I didn't enjoy. For what it's worth I'd buy the above example in a blink of an eye!

Berry's have a good buyer. It's rare but possible (never happened to me) tha you might get a bad bottle but I would always chance it with BBR

Agree with you but I did manage it once - BBR Ben Nevis 1996 13 yr old 56.9% - "wet cardboard" if it had a tasting note on the bottle! I'd still chance it on this bottle as I'd suggest BBR is about as low risk as you get on an IB.

This is one of their Selected By Berrys' range. The bottles on their site are all Berrys' Own Selection. I have no idea what the criteria is for the two ranges, nor why one range is quite scarce. On their site there are just a couple available from this range but are vatted malts (Islay and Speyside), and not singles.

The label differences can be seen here.

I agree with the above. Berry's bottles are always worth a punt.

I may be wrong here, they have a 1994 Glenlivet with no image that i think may be from the same range as the OP Bladnoch.
