Very sad indeed, all the more so of course as children are involved.

I was listening to a news item on the radio last night about this tragedy; the reporter was making the point that (like air travel) bus & coach travel is a highly safe mode of transport compared with car travel, but when a serious accident does happen the risk of multiple fatalities is high and therefore the incident receives significant media attention. This doesn't make the news any less traumatic though, especially for the families and firends of those killed, who I hope will be able to give support to each other.
I must remember to forget....

Today is a national day or mourning. At 11.00 the country stood still for a minute of silence. It was a deafening silence. I've got tears in my eyes all day.

A local police officer was murdered while on duty in December 2009. The trial finally ended this week, Kevin Gregson (a former federal police officer) was found guilty of 1st degree murder. Finally some closure to Const. Czapnik's family, and all of those involed.

RIP Eric, we miss you.

I spent a Christmas in the UK in the early 80's and we avidly followed the darts with Jocky Wilson in the lead. Sad to hear this news.

I enjoy Levon's later solo music. An honest hard working guy who was respected for his strength of character by many.

His efforts with The Band and the subsequent decades of pulling knives out of his back (recognition for his song writing contributions were intentionally removed by a rival band member) possibly contributed to his long term health problems. In fact, for anyone interested the story of The Band (if you can find the truth), it is both shocking and moving.
