Hi Jerome,

Is your Arran 1996 Sherry Cask from Cask 1785? If so, lucky you. It's a dandy!

Bob

Yes, it is from cask 1785. Glad to know I got a good one.

I got one of these recently. I loved the 2006, so hopefully this is as good.

Lightly smoked and "kippered" creme brule with a thorough grate of peat... :yummy:

Port Ellen 1983 27yo Provenance, Port Ellen Old Bothwell 1982 cask 2558, Laphroaig 15yo (at the original price!). There are a few more in the pipe line but I'll post a new message when I actually have them in my possession.

Took a trip to Booth's in Ripon - too much time on my hands with this "gardening leave" lark - and stumbled across a couple of IB's.

Douglas of Drumlanrig Rosebank 1990 19 yr old 46%

At £66 thought it was a reasonable price for a Rosebank.

The other - not purchased was a Mortlach from the same bottler.

Ralfy's review of the Del Maguey Mezcal Chichicapa was enough for me to give it a try. I also got a couple of Tequilas to try as well.

I will give the mezcal a taste test tonight.

I am having a dram of the Chichicapa right now. This is really spectacular stuff. I like it so much I ordered another bottle and also a bottle of Minero since you spoke highly of it.

You left the best one out: Pappy Van Winkle 15yo Family Reserve

Just bought 2 x Glenfiddich Cask of Dreams myself, should be good stuff

Bought myself a 1960 Strathisla - bottled 2010.

Very good value for a bottle of such age - I know because i already had one! ;)
I feel no pain dear mother now
But oh, I am so dry!
O take me to the distillery
And leave me there to die.
