Just to see if I still agreed with my previous notes I recently revisited this one. The bottle has now been open for some time and whether due to this, or differences in my palate on the day, my notes are really quite different:
Bowmore Dusk, now obsolete bottling, Claret Cask, 50%
Nose: Red wine, honey and a little peat.
Palate: Initially smooth and creamy with a delicious hint of rich red wine which opens on the palate to a tingling, lingering flowery peatiness.
A second taste offers more raisins and a littel oak also appears.
Overall Impression: It really is a shame that this was culled.
