Nose: The lower strength certainly shows in the nose of grain whiskies if this is anything to go by. Slight sweetness that might be a honey note. Some spirit tones too. I'm not getting much else.A few drops of water bring out something not entirely pleasant - I don't know ... harsh iron filings maybe. Odd

Palate: That's better. Not as gentle as the previous ones though. Nothing I can really nail here though.

Finish: A tad bitter, which actually balances the sweetness quite nicely. But again, nothing definitive.

Inoffensive but not one I would rush out to buy.

Expression - Cameron Brig
ABV - 40%
Colour - Burnished copper
Nose - Straightforward, simple, sweet sugar, vanilla, very lightly feinty with a hint of draff
Palate - Not too much going on. In fact the palate is just like sweet water.
Finish - All the action starts here. Sugars wrapping the tongue, hints of vanilla, bit of woodspice towards the end. The finish is very long and keeps sending new waves of increasing warmth across the tongue.
Comments - Unexciting, but very easy to drink.

Nose: Something faintly resembling methane initially, which thankfully rapidly disappears. A little spicy (possibly cinnamon). Quite rich and warming. Hints of citrus fruit, mainly lemon and possibly a little orange peel. Lots of rich vanilla ice-cream appears shortly after pouring. A vague chemical note, possibly plastic bottles. Draff.

Palate: Smooth and creamy. Slight chilli heat with a faint oaky edge. Very inexpressive. Reminds me of a taste I find in cheaper blended Scotch, actually.

Finish: Hints of vanilla, spice and oak, fading with a few lemony notes.

Quite a nice nose once it gets going. The palate isn't particularly expressive though and the finish is pretty short but good. Not bad stuff overall, but the palate lets it down.
