Whisky Spotting on TV and in Films

Hey,

Watched Leatherheads and in one scene, I could swear that they were drinking Balvenie (or at least, it looked just like a Balvenie bottle).

What other movies have you spotted whisky in? (The more obscure, the better!)

Bruichladdict made a thread about the sitcom Two and a Half Men since the star of the show lives in a Malibu beach house and almost every show hes drinking a different scotch or bourbon. I think it was only Bruichladdict and I in that thread.

I have seen Glenmorangie Old Port Wood Finish, Lagavulin, and Macallan in Two and a Half Men.

In the Swedish movie "Mænd der hader kvinder" ("Men who hates women", english title is "the girl with the dragon tattoo")

they are sipping 16yr old Bushmill single malt. In the books they have a few malts now and again or maltdrinking is mentioned. Cragganmore and Lagavulin is mentioned specifically iirc (not Bushmill).

The books are highly recommended by me ! (also the flick)

We were watching an old movie named Grosse Point Blank with John Cusack who portrays a young professional killer. In the opening scene, he visits his father graveyard and he was holding a bottle. He poured the contents into the tombstone. It was Glenlivet. Oh, what a waste.

I watched a TV drama last night called Reichenbach Falls based on an Ian Rankin short story. The lead character was drinking Ardbeg throughout the whole thing from Oddbins to the point that I was thinking that this must be product placement or sponsorship of some sort, both from Ardbeg and Oddbins!

He was drinking and removing the bottles from Oddbins bags and sent his partner to Oddbins for another one.

Even though it isn't mentioned in any credits (that I could find on IMDB.com) I distinctly remember (and being somewhat surprised that I was able to identify it without a clearer image) Talisker being the dram Pierce Brosnan pours himself in Goldeneye early on (while IMDB lists Jack Daniels for Judy Dench's M).

Or have I gone round the bend?

Kill Bill 1 is just on on Swiss TV and I just saw the scene. Thanks for the great input, I thoroughly impressed my Girlfriend by telling her what kinda malt it was the mobster shot.. NOT Thanks all the same
