Been doing some hiking in the desert.

I am working. Hard. It falls within my job description to document cultural landscape.

Arch, where did you go hike? Pretty country.

I'm staying out near Vegas for a couple of weeks. That's Turtlehead Peak in Red Rock Canyon, NV. I'm much more interested in the hills than the city - stunning countryside.

Mog, is that a sperm whale beached on the N Yorks coast? They are incredibly rare in the North Sea.

yeah, beached on redcar beach on tuesday sometime in the early hours and died around 9am..

yeah, beached on redcar beach on tuesday sometime in the early hours and died around 9am..

Moggy, your stranded sperm whale made it onto the TV on Springwatch (ep. 3 on iPlayer) with a discussion on why 2 sperm wales - Redcar and one in Kent - became stranded. Seems that the North Sea is too shallow for them to feed and they starve and become dehydrated and decline rapidly. There you go.

My body guards looked some what different. Bigger and hairier. But a long time ago...Glad to hear they're looking after you Bud.
