In a few minutes I'll be lighting up a Hoyo De Monterey with some Lapsang Souchong Tea and maybe some Oogie.

Balvenie humidified Flor de oliva (I left it to soak up some balvenie fumes for about a week). Experiement was great succes for few minutes, but it was missing bit of top leaf which ruined it somewhat.

Well anyways, got those intenseley sweet malt sugar notes and toffee with smoke and for those few minutes it was totally worth it. I think some peated Islay stuff would do lot better than sweet speysider :P .

Basicaly what I did was placing cigar into those container (plastic ones with lids), then small bowl (screw top cork or something smiliar) then filled that bowl with 2cl whisky and let it stay there for week or so (humidity meter might be good for this one I bet).

Next thing I'm prolly gonna do is to try cover cigar with whisky using a paint brush right before lighting it up. Or then cut cigar head open and tip it in whisky, when smoke comes thru the whisky soaken part it picks those aromas with it (happend actually with my test since accidentaly some whisky soaked into cigar).

P.S Darn this is getting long, just so excited about my succes because it really was so good :D . But I'm wondring if buying some cheap blend or some cheap SSMW would turn cheaper cigars into something enjoyable (now I mean something like Hoffnar Half-Corona and that yucky stuff). But yeah, I truly recommend to try out!

Tatuaje Drac with Whyte & Mackay 13yr. Didn't really go for the cigar and the whisky didn't rescue it. Glad I got to try it though...

Tatuaje Boris with coffee. I am one really lucky cat to be able to get ahold of even one of these LEs outside of the US. Best cigar I've had in quite some time...

Tried a few lately, now that we have a full humidor in the store. Quite keen on the wee Montecristo Puritos as they're quick to smoke (outside the shop) but bigger than the minis.

Also, quite like the La Invicta Nicaraguan Robustos we have as they're big and cheap! :D

I'm still finding the Cohibas to be generally too strong for my taste. Recently had a Bolivar Tubos No. 3 and that was just on the right side of strong for me.

I'm down to my last two Serie D :( , but a Behike would be a nice alternative. How do you find the Open Eagle? I've only read mixed reviews on it.

Ha Ha Thx. I see most people here are smoking cuban but there are some great things out of Nic too. The Cain is an all Ligero cigar so it's quite strong and the WTRB was a perfect foil with the sweet corn, vanilla, leather flavours.

I have been working my way through a small Padilla sampler recently, which is rather nice, but have also revisited Rocky Patel's lineup this week (Edge, Decade, Olde World Reserve, Sun Grown).

Iain, what are the prices and selection of cigars out there? I never checked the prices when I was visiting last winter. If I get to Edinburgh next month perhaps we should have a smoke or two?

The series P No. 2 is great. I'm usually not a fan of the Piramide vitola, but this one is amazing.
