Where are you travelling to next?

Yeh I know there is a slightly similar topic but this is more general.

Got a holiday planned? Somewhere your going that you've always wanted to and this is your first time. Somewhere you recommend is a must see, or maybe your just nipping up the M1 for the best fish 'n chips ever.(there seems to be an M1 in most english speaking countries).Come back from somewhere that blew your mind or maybe even have disappointed you or have some hot travel tips?

I'm back to Japan later next month and those who are familiar with my rants about Japanese whisky might think this is a no brainer. Thing is for me, I love the Japanese culture(so does the Mrs), just so happens that the locals love whisky as well. Anywhere else in the world that you know that has bars that stock 2000 or more whiskys? Or bars that stock 400 bourbons or 400 tequila's outside of their native countries and this can all be found in one city, Tokyo. Also we in Australia can fly round trip to Tokyo or Osaka for about AUD$400. Hard to knock back a 4-5 night indulgent jaunt at that price when they come up.

Traveling home in the morning only 700 miles from sunny Castel-Moron D'Albret. Mrs Les is flying from Bordeaux so I can have my music on as loud as I want all journey. I have a lot of Yes lined up and a bit of Brucey. :D

Not happy about the price of the toll roads though. 37 euros just from Bordeaux to Tours, about 80 euros in total And fuel is 1 euro 50 per litre.

Now that I've found a new job..... the missus and I are cruising the Atlantic again in December to NY with Cunard, followed by a few days in Manhattan xmas shopping. It's to celebrate my 40th this year after doing the same to celebrate her birthday last year - we enjoyed it so much we booked up again almost immediately after our return home.

For me this is THE way to 'cross the pond' and (for those that know what I'm like with a bargain) much more inexpensive than many would perhaps imagine.

I'll be off the the US again later this year for a couple of weeks around Thanksgiving. Going to be based in Connecticut but planning trips to New York and Boston while we're there. Any boozy recommendations gratefully accepted.

On the subject of travel; I'll be going to the local airport a few times per week, driving around the place a lot, sometimes even kneeling or standing in the aircraft hold whilst you lot are getting comfortable above my head .....

Going to do the "Bourbon Trail" & also hit several other distilleries not on the official "trail" this fall. It's been a few years since we've toured US distilleries so really looking forward to this.
