Very interesting...the Boe gin I had assumed was from Deanston so I guess that is the case, not as yummy as some of the other Scottish gins. there is/are umlots over the 'e', how does that make the word sound? How do you spell 'umlouts' anyway :

Nice pictures indeed. I've been meaning to visit Deanston for ages since I pass the sign going to and from Callander. Hope I can make it happen one of these days.

And now we have a confirmation of where Ledaig/Tobermory is warehoused on the mainland.

BTW: It's spelled "umlaut" if it is this "ë" you mean Jolly Toper?

I wasn't intending to visit but managed to pass it on the road to Glenturret and turned the car around. I had to make a wee phone call as they are still only taking people round by appointment but when the new visitor centre opens it will be all systems go!

Re: the gin, I thought Boe was made there but the guy showing me round said the gin equipment hadn't been used for some time...can't think where else it would be made, though. Forgot to ask the question!

Wonderful pix, Mark - thanks for sharing. I liked seeing those Dickel/Four Roses barrels...

Nice photos.Home to the Deanston 12 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky .For their efforts an interesting feature is the use of water-powered turbines as the energy source, something that was a familiar sight to those working Scotland’s distilleries a century ago.
