SMWS preview tasting evening

Postby orange_barnet » 03 Sep 2011, 01:07

Anyone going to the SMWS tasting evening in Manchester on 30th September, by any chance?

Went to the last one they did in the North West, in Liverpool, a few months ago and thoroughly enjoyed myself :D

... so am thinking will go to this one!
I must remember to forget....

Side bar question to those more in the know about SMWS:

I believe the spring and fall SMWS Extravaganzas in the United States have different programs and possibly a difference in expressions. Can anybody shed some light on this? I suppose I could call SMWS and ask, but that would be too easy. Thanks.

"Just as all single malt whiskies are one-of-a-kind, so is each of our Extravaganza tasting events."

If nothing else, I would certainly think that the range of whiskies available would change from moment to moment.

The SMWS has different bottlings to the UK and the US. Hence, if you take Glenmorangie, the UK had 125.1, 125.2, 125.3 and then plenty of the series missing missing until it got more 125s (if I remember correctly).

Funny how the brain works (or doesn't). I had to read the whole thread carefully three times before I saw what he he meant.

oddly, i'm not seeing any posts from c57 in this thread before the one in which he asks if there's an echo. therefore i am unable to ascertain the oddness of the mode of functioning of c57's brain.

I think its now or never that you should put me out of my misery and let me ponder no more and contemplate where do I go from here in this thread...
