High treason! :-o But tell us how much it fetched :D

Currently at £40.

Finished at £60. I reckon that's a loss to the seller if you take off the fees.

If you sell £20000 worth of whisky, you get £360 back.
if you sell £40000 you get £866

Good if you are selling part of a collection or a complete collection.

Most auctions charge an additional % (+vat on %) on top of the hammer. Mctears & Bonhams work at 20% + VAT on the 20%. the most expensive lot i've bought at auction was £650 hammer price (got excited) which ended up being about £800 total. I'd rather pay the fiver.

I'll try to avoid mctears in future due to a mix of mistakes and the fees. Bonhams are the same on fees but far more profesional in my experience.

Thanks for clearing that up for me, 13th.

Some super lots in the auction that finished tonight and some great prices for the lucky sellers. Hopefully, this is one auction that is here to stay.

I genuinely hope scotch whisky auctions is a great success. But the communication could be a lot better. I've never received a reply to any of my emails. Albeit only three, but...

Can someone tell me if you have to pay for postage separately?

It's all in the one invoice. Not sure what you mean here but you'll get one payment request that includes the P&P and there will be a surcharge if you use a credit card.

You'll likely get more response from Bill on here than from the email address - they don't seem to get my emails at all but Bill's always responded helpfully on here. Send him a PM

Thanks a million. I bought whiskies at the auction, which I'm pleased with. I received an invoice, which I settled, and then received an email about postage, but I'm not sure if I was charged all together. I'll send a pm and see.

I know that Bill's had a (very well deserved) 10 day break, so I'm guessing that it'll take him a little while to catch up.

I actual sold for the first in the September auction and am awaiting a cheque. But I'm totally relaxed about receiving it. I trust this company 100%.

Hi guys. A million apologies for the delays. The holiday (while much appreciated) has thrown my schedule to pot, so I'm still catching up. Payments are being processed and PMs on the Forum are being replied to. Thanks for your faith and patience.

Some great items in the 7th Auction (as ever), including some 'aces' from the closed distilleries. A fabulous "Glenlochy 1952" is perhaps the pick of the crop.

Those who know mw willbe unsurprised I was drawn to the 90s HP25.
Interestingly the descriptioon says 50.7% but the label picture shows 53.5%.

I assume the picture is the actual bottle and the text is a cut and paste without validation? Can't be sure though - maybe the picture is a copy from a previous.

Similar issue with the 2 Duncan Taylor Glenesks - bottle is the same in both pictures.

Yes, Sunday evening.

The major surprise for me is that a "Ben Wyvis 1968" miniature (like my ones) has only got to £100. I can only assume that the auction (focused as it is on full-sized bottlings) has not captured the interest of the miniature-collecting fraternity.
